Cataracts, Lower Kern River
This is the perhaps the most demanding class 5 whitewater that the Kern has to offer. It is below Lake Isabella, yet even further below the Lower Kern Section, along highway 178. It contains gradients of up to 350 feet/mile in some spots and holds many jagged blasted rocks and undercuts galore.
