Brush Creek is about 16 miles north of Kernville and is another runnable tributary to the Kern River.
In the past few years many paddlers have taken the Natural Disneyland log ride down Brush Creek. Long granite slides and deep granite bowls line the creek until it merges into the trees and brush near the river. This year is going to be a lot different. All those deep granite pools are now filled in with sand from recent runoff in the McNalley Fire Area. This creek is not longer any creek for first timers to easily plunge down. PRECISE landings are a must as the deepest pool now is maybe waist deep.

THE CRACK O' DEATH...normally you DO NOT run this sliver of a drop.
|
This is the biggest single drop on the run and the pool is only about 2-3 feet deep so you MUST land extremely flat.
